File In Person at The Courthouse

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona has offices in Phoenix and Tucson. You may file documents and pay fees at either Clerk’s Office, even if your case is assigned to the other office. Public parking is not available at either courthouse. Addresses, directions, and parking information are available on the court’s website.

Your county determines your case code and assigned office:

  • Code 2 – Phoenix: Apache, Gila, Maricopa, and Navajo Counties
  • Code 3 – Phoenix: Coconino and Yavapai Counties
  • Code 0 – Tucson: La Paz, Mohave, and Yuma Counties
  • Code 4 – Tucson: Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Pinal, and Santa Cruz Counties

Will I have to stand in line?

You might have to stand in line.

The Clerk’s Offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except holidays. Service is first come, first served. To avoid long lines, try to visit outside the busiest times, usually 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Will I get my case number immediately?

Yes. If you can wait at the courthouse, court staff can process your case, which may take up to 30 minutes. You will receive your case number before you leave.
