Roadways to the Bench: Who Me? A Bankruptcy or Magistrate Judge?

Monday, April 3, 2023 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. MST

In a continued effort to promote judicial diversity in the federal bench, the Judicial Conference Committee on the Administration of the Bankruptcy System and the Committee on the Administration of the Magistrate Judges System are hosting a major event to help lawyers and law students learn from sitting judges about their journeys to the federal bench. This event takes place simultaneously in 36 different cities across the country.

The program will begin with a live-streamed national panel discussion among distinguished judges, who will introduce the program to all 36 participating cities. The judges will talk about their own pathways to the bench, and they will offer their thoughts on the importance of judicial diversity in the federal bankruptcy bench and bar. The Arizona participants will then enjoy an hour of rotating roundtables with local judges for more in-depth discussions. We are delighted that 21 Arizona circuit, district, bankruptcy, and magistrate judges will rotate through the roundtables. The events will be held at The Sandra Day O’Connor U.S. Courthouse, 401 W. Washington Street, Phoenix, Arizona and at The Evo A. DeConcini U.S. Courthouse, 405 W. Congress Street, Tucson, Arizona. A gelato and coffee reception will follow.

Registration is now open. Click here to register (https://forms.office.com/g/rU2j8GRFsv). There is no charge for this event and registration may be limited due to space constraints.
