Pro Bono Honor Roll

Recognition of Pro Bono Volunteers in the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Arizona

In honor of National Pro Bono Celebration week, the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Arizona, recognizes the exceptional commitment and efforts of bankruptcy attorneys in our district who assist self-represented parties. The District of Arizona has the second highest self-represented filing rate in the nation. Pro bono volunteers help those debtors and creditors navigate through the complicated bankruptcy system. These attorneys greatly benefit the Court and all of its litigants.

The pro bono services recognized include volunteer commitment to one or more of the following: Bankruptcy Court Self Help Center, Friends of the Court Reaffirmation programs; Southern Arizona Legal Aid and Community Legal Services Volunteer Lawyer Programs and consultation and representation in adversaries and contested matters. The Court thanks each of the following Honor Roll of Pro Bono volunteers for their current and continued support in assisting self-represented parties in our district.1

Additionally, in honor of National Pro Bono Celebration week, the Court formally announces the creation of a new Pro Bono Panel to assist low income litigants in adversaries and contested matters. Click here for a description of the Panel. This Panel expands and formalizes on-going efforts of committed pro bono attorneys in our district. Consider supporting this Panel and the other bankruptcy pro bono service programs.

James M. Marlar, Chief Bankruptcy Judge

1The Honor Roll lists will be updated quarterly to add any new volunteers. Please submit any additions or questions to Tami Johnson, Pro Se Law Clerk, at tami_johnson@azb.uscourts.gov.
