  • December/January Holiday Closings: The Clerk's Office will be closed on Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in observance of Christmas, as well as Monday, December 31, 2012, and Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in observance of the New Year.

  • Bankruptcy Pro Bono Attorney Panel: Volunteer attorneys may now sign up for the Bankruptcy Pro Bono Panel on-line. The Pro Bono Panel will advise and represent indigent parties in "discrete adversary proceedings and contested matters." Click here for more information on the Panel and to complete the on-line form.
       
  • ECF Upgrade to Version 5.0 Completed in TEST system: The upgrade to version 5 has been completed and is now available for testing with your location applications. Please confirm with your software vendor that you have the updates necessary to support Bankruptcy CM/ECF Version 5. For more information regarding the version 5 upgrade, please download the release notes.
     
  • ECF Server Maintenance Completed: Systems maintenance on the ECF servers was completed on Saturday, December 1, 2012. Due to the length of time that was required for this maintenance, the upgrade of the ECF Test system to ECF Version 5.0 will be rescheduled.

  • ECF Version 5.0 Upgrade in Test database: The upgrade to ECF Version 5.0 in the Court's Test database has been scheduled for Saturday, December 1, 2012, from 9am to noon. As a result there may be intermittent interruptions to service in the ECF systems during this time.

  • Final Report, BI Holdings, Inc., Case # 2:02-bk-19210-GBN: The Notice of Trustee's Final Report and Application for Compensation and Deadline to Object (NFR) has been filed today. Creditors may download the full notice with instructions here.
     
  • Filing Fee Increase: Effective November 21, 2012, there will be increases in several filing fees related to Chapter 11 Bankruptcies. Click here to view the new filing fees.
      
  • Upgrade to Multi-Court Voice Case Information system (McVCIS): Effective Thursday, November 1, 2012, The Court will upgrade its Voice Case Information System to the Multi-Court Voice case Information System, to provide the public free, automated case information via any touch-tone telephone. The new McVCIS access number is 1-866-222-8029.
     
  • Court Establishes Pro Bono Honor Roll and Announces Creation of Pro Bono Panel: In honor of National Pro Bono Celebration week (October  21-27), the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Arizona recognizes the outstanding commitment and efforts of pro bono attorneys in our district by establishing a permanent Pro Bono Honor Roll on the Court website. Additionally, the Court announces the creation of a Bankruptcy Pro Bono Attorney Panel to advise and represent indigent parties in "discrete adversary proceedings and contested matters."

  • Building Maintenance: Maintenance activites at the Phoenix Courthouse are planned for Saturday, October 20, 2012, beginning at 4:30am. As a result, ECF may become unavailable and this website will display a failover message.

  • November Holiday Closings: The Clerk's Office will be closed on Monday, November 12, 2012 in observance of Veteran's Day, as well as Thursday and Friday, November 22 and 23, 2012 in observance of Thanksgiving.

  • Systems Maintenance: System maintenance will be performed this evening (October 1, 2012) from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. While it is not anticipated, it is possible that maintenance activities will result in periodic disruption of service to this website, as well as ECF.

  • Returned Mail Processing: Effective October 15, 2012, a new centralized return mail program will be implemented for processing returned mail that is currently being sent back to the bankruptcy court for handling. Click here to learn more.
     
  • Chapter 11 Fee Increase: Effective November 21, 2012, the fee for filing a chapter 11 case increases to $1213.00 (an increase of $167.00).
     
  • Revised Local Rule 5095-1: In General Order 107, the court adopts revisions to Local Rule 5095-1, Deposit of Funds In The Registry Account. The Local Rule has been revised to change administrative procedures from directing the clerk to invest deposited registry funds with financial institutions to directing the clerk to deposit registry funds with the Court Registry Investment System (CRIS), administered by the Administrative Office and currently used by over 80 courts nationwide. The revised Local Rule applies to new registry funds deposited with the court on or after June 1, 2012.

  • The Court adopts General Order 106 setting forth Guidelines for payment of attorneys fees in Chapter 13 cases.  The Guidelines are in effect for all chapter 13 cases filed on or after June 1, 2012.
     
  • On Wednesday, April 18, at the Walsh Courthouse in Tucson, self help materials and assistance will be available in the Clerk's Office lobby on the first floor. The Self Help Center on the second floor will be closed.
     
  • ECF Downtime: ECF will be unavailable on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 9am to 1pm MST for system maintenance.

  • Tucson Streetcar Construction: According to publically available information, during construction for the Modern Streetcar in downtown Tucson starting on April 9, 2012, the Walsh courthouse will be accessible from Broadway Boulevard, but not from Congress Street. For more information, go to www.downtowntucson.org, click on the Get Around link and then select Street Closure Blog.
     
  • ECF Version 4.3: ECF version 4.3 has been installed in the ECF Train system. This version includes updates to support the PACER fee increase, improved performance of large claims activity reports and adjustments to information available on restricted documents and cases.
     
    ECF will experience a system outage on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 10:00am to 2:00pm MST, while Version 4.3 is installed in the Live system.

  • PACER Fee Increase Effective April 1, 2012: Effective April 1, 2012, the fee for Public Access to Electronic Records (PACER) will increase from $.08 to $.10 per page. More detailed information is available here.
     
  • CHS Launch: The Court Hearing Scheduler (CHS), a plugin for CM/ECF that facilitates scheduling of hearing dates for attorneys and trustees, is being launched on Thursday, March 1, 2012. To learn more about this interface, there is a brief video, and an informational document, available.
     
  • Tucson Self-Help Center: The Tucson Self-Help Center will close at noon today, Thursday, February 23.
     
  • ECF Downtime: ECF will be unavailable on the evening of Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm for system maintenance.

  • Proposed General Order - Guidelines For Payment of Attorneys Fees in Chapter 13 Cases:  In 2011, a committee of the State Bankruptcy Bar assisted in preparing a proposed local rule to address attorney fees in Chapter 13 cases.  The judges have had an opportunity to review the proposal and while the assistance from the bar is much appreciated and the viewpoints expressed therein have been taken into consideration, an alternative draft General Order has been proposed (click here to download a PDF copy). The court has set a 60-day comment period for the proposed General Order and comments will be accepted through Friday, April 6, 2012.
     
  • Tucson Self-Help Center Update: On Wednesday, January 25, 2012, the self help center at the Walsh Courthouse in Tucson will close one hour early, at 12:00 p.m.
     
  • The court welcomes a new Clerk of Court: George Prentice assumed the duties of the court's top administrative manager on January 16, 2012. Mr. Prentice has an extensive court management background, most recently serving as Clerk of Court for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Texas in San Antonio. Mr. Prentice is a graduate Fellow of the Institute for Court Management in Williamsburg, Virginia, a graduate of the Court Management Masters Program,The American University, in Washington D.C., and holds a BA from the University of New Orleans in Louisiana.
     
  • Thank You from Judge Hollowell: I recently received the results from  my third Judicial Performance Survey conducted last year. I want to thank all the lawyers who took the time to complete the questionnaire. I carefully review all of the results. I have found the surveys to be invaluable  in helping me in my efforts to do the best job I can.
     
  • Holiday Closure: The court will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2012, in recognition of the birthday of  Martin Luther King, Jr.
     
  • PACER Service Disruption: There will be nationwide maintenance on the PACER system Saturday, January 14, 2012. The disruptions will begin at 9am ET (7am MT) and continue until 6pm ET (4pm MT). PACER users may have sessions terminated or experience difficulty logging in to the system. We apologize for the inconvenience.
     
  • Pay.gov Service Disruption: Pay.gov, the company that processes credit card transactions for ECF, will be failing over to its contingency site on Saturday, January 21, 2012 starting at 4pm MST. They will operate for a two week period from that site. Pay.gov will return to the current production site on February 4, 2012 also starting at 4pm MST. During the failover and failback, there will be a disruption in credit card transaction authorizations for up to two hours.
